So if you're here, you're probably wondering why Despammed has been dark for ... I'm not actually sure how long it was dark.
Suffice it to say that the server died and I had no backup. I have in the meantime found the code for the filter and the pages you see here, but all the Website code and all the existing user registration information is in the Big Bitbucket in the Sky now. At the same time, I was experiencing considerable financial difficulties, and we were discovering serious health problems with our youngest child. Despammed was not among my top priorities.
I've felt bad about leaving you all in the lurch for so long, and now I hope to rebuild the Despammed.com service, this time hopefully on a friendlier and more community-oriented basis. We all grow up, with time. Thanks for being here.
If you had a Despammed.com account, get in touch with me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll get you set up -- unfortunately, no data can be restored, so if you lost anything, I'm sorry. I can give you a full refund, of course. And of course I don't know who most of you are. I do have some older correspondence I'll be going back through.
The circumstances of my new hosting setup mean that I can no longer offer the Webmail feature as it was implemented (I don't have the space available.) Until further notice, all accounts must be forwarding accounts. As soon as possible, I'll rewrite administration code such as registration and forwarding address updates; I do not have a timeline for that. And then, I think it's high time to do something new with this service, don't you? Drop me a line if you have good ideas.
